Associate Professor Jes Frellsen from the research section Cognitive Systems at DTU Compute is one of three researchers who received the Reinholdt W. Jorck and Hustrus Fond's combined research award and travel grant at a ceremony last week.
Jes Frellsen is one of Denmark's leading experts in generative artificial intelligence (AI), known from technologies such as chatbots and image generation models. He develops groundbreaking methods for handling incomplete data, crucial for scientific applications. Frellsen also researches the safe and reliable use of AI, with applications in fields such as biology. Additionally, he actively contributes to education, including the establishment of the world's first PhD summer school in generative AI.
The award is given in recognition of past achievements and as inspiration for the continuation of the recipients' research and teaching. The amounts are to be used, as directed by the respective recipients, to cover expenses related to ongoing and future research, including further education for research purposes within the recipients' respective fields.
The research award ceremony took place in the Courts of Denmark (Højesteret).
